The Student Ensemble Program is unique to our community. The Program, for students in 6th grade and up, fosters a well-rounded dance experience by providing dance technique classes and an opportunity to learn choreography and perform in the community. The Ensemble is a lot of fun to be a part of and is also a serious commitment.
Ensemble students should have a passion and curiosity for dance and also make the required classes and rehearsals a priority in their extracurricular activities.
The commitment for each Ensemble member is to attend the following technique classes each week as well as rehearsal. Missing more than two rehearsals jeopardizes your participation. The Ensemble will perform in the community and in CDF’s annual performance, FREEFORM, December 10 & 11 (dress rehearsal on December 9). Also note that special weekend rehearsals may be called close to performance time.
Fee: $125 per semester.

All students interested in being a part of the Ensemble will participate in an annual audition class and be selected based on four criteria:
- their responses on their audition form,
- their ability to learn and perform the material given in the audition class,
- the work ethic and level of commitment they have exhibited in previous classes at CDF and
- their being on time, prepared and neatly dressed for the audition class.
The audition class will be held in July. The audition form as well as more details will be available here mid May. Please contact Shellie Chambers if you have questions. 870-0073 or shellie@childrensdancefoundation.org.
